ABOUT US
Effie Wood Worth is a journal for people who want technology explained without the sales pitch.
Who we are
We are a small group of writers, testers and researchers who got tired of reviews that read like press releases. Effie Wood Worth started as a shared notebook of tools that actually survived a normal working week. Today it reaches readers who want the facts, the trade-offs and the next step in one place.
We are not a media giant and we do not want to be. A small team means every guide is written by someone who did the testing, and every correction reaches a human who can fix it the same day. That is the whole advantage of staying small.
Our mission
We help readers choose technology with their eyes open. Every week we publish free guides on Tech Frontier, Gadget Lab, WebCraft, Search Intelligence and Digital Growth: real 2026 tools, dated tests, clear verdicts and steps you can act on.
That means fewer hot takes and more receipts. When we say a page got faster, we show the before and after. When we say a gadget is worth the money, we explain what we gave up to recommend it. The guides are free because readers trust them, not because a brand paid for them.
Editorial standards
No sponsored picks, no pay-to-rank lists. We use primary sources, disclose relationships, and correct mistakes in public within 48 hours. Numbers come from official documentation, published research and our own tests, never from a press release alone. If a claim fails verification, we say so.
We do not accept payment for coverage. If a company sends unsolicited material, we either return it or mention it in the article. Any affiliate link is labelled, and it never decides whether a product or a story appears, or how it is ranked.
The team
Effie Wood Worth (Editor), Nadia Cole (Gadgets & Hardware), Marcus Vale (WebCraft & Search), and Ivy Tan (Digital Growth). Supported by contributing testers who check every guide before it ships.
Between us we have built sites, broken them, run campaigns that failed and reviewed more devices than we care to count. That experience is the only credential that matters here.
